How are puppies paired and placed with families?

I take great pride in thoughtfully matching each puppy with the family best suited to their individual personality, temperament, and lifestyle. My approach is intentional and personalized, ensuring that families have an active role in the selection process while benefiting from my experience and knowledge of each puppy. I believe that choosing a puppy should be a collaborative process. Every family deserves the opportunity to get to know the puppies, observe their developing personalities, and participate in selecting the puppy they will welcome into their home. Once the puppies reach three weeks of age, families are welcome to visit and spend time with them as often as they wish. These visits allow families to build connections with the puppies while giving me the opportunity to observe their interactions and preferences. At six weeks of age, each family is invited to select their top two puppy choices. I then conduct temperament evaluations and consider the results alongside my ongoing observations and understanding of each puppy’s unique characteristics. Using this information, I make thoughtful, individualized matches designed to support a successful, lifelong relationship between each puppy and their new family. My ultimate goal is to create the best possible match for both the puppy and the family. By combining family preferences with temperament assessments and my firsthand knowledge of each puppy, I strive to ensure that every puppy is placed in a loving home where they can thrive for years to come.

 Our Commitment to Puppy Socialization

Our puppies’ socialization begins even before birth! During pregnancy, we provide our expectant mothers with plenty of gentle massages, affection, and cuddles. These positive interactions help create a nurturing environment and may influence the puppies’ early responsiveness to human touch.

Once our puppies are born, we begin Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) at three days of age, following age-appropriate protocols designed to support their early development.

As the puppies grow and their eyes and ears open, we introduce them to a variety of sensory experiences.  We also gradually expose them to common household sounds, including vacuums, televisions, and dishwashers, to help them become more comfortable with the everyday sounds of family life.  We also introduce different textures for them to learn to walk on.

As they mature, we introduce age-appropriate experiences beyond their immediate surroundings. The puppies begin taking short car rides and meeting a variety of people of different ages, helping them become familiar with new faces, sounds, and environments.

We also welcome dedicated puppy cuddlers twice a week to provide additional gentle handling, affection, and positive human interaction. In addition, our puppies have supervised opportunities to interact with our other dogs, allowing them to begin learning appropriate social behaviors and communication with adult dogs.

Our goal is to raise well-socialized, confident, and adaptable puppies by providing a safe, nurturing environment filled with positive experiences during their critical early developmental stages. We believe that thoughtful, intentional socialization lays an important foundation for a smooth transition into their forever homes.
