While I would love to keep every breeding dog I own in my home, my husband would die, and I know that would be very unfair to the dogs. Despite my desire, I know I would not be able to give enough attention and training to each dog; my dogs are my babies, and they all deserve unconditional love and attention. They all need to be cared for, trained and valued beyond what I could offer!
Therefore, to continue expanding my breeding program, and afford each dog a great loving family environment, I carefully select guardian homes for them.
Each guardian home is given the choice breeding dog from my litter, at no cost, and is provided four (4) in-home training sessions with my trainer from Right on Target Training. Is provided ongoing support and assistance from me, breeding care, and best part, I will deliver (whelp) and raise the puppies in my home, so you have no mess! When the dog has reached the end of his/her breeding career, they will be spayed or neutered, and belong completely to you, the guardian family.
Each family selected must understand, agree to, and meet the following expectations.
Guardian Family Expectation:
· Bring the dog to my home every 2 months for the first year so that they are completely comfortable being in my home, and around our other dogs. You are free to stay and visit or drop them off for a playdate.
· Train the dog beyond the four free training sessions provided. Dogs should attend early training and continue in training beyond puppy kindergarten. Training may be done with a trainer, through physical training classes, or through online classes or a combination.
· Provide thorough socialization for the dog within the 1st year, taking them out to a variety of experiences and locations to help them develop into confident, well-adjusted pets.
· Pay for all regular expenses, including food, vet visits, vaccinations, grooming, etc. We will cover all breeding-related expenses.
· Feed the food and vitamin regimen that I recommend and require. For cost estimation purposes, this runs about $100 a month.
· Provide containment for outside physical activity. A physical fence is preferable to any other containment, but we know that a physical fence isn't always possible.
· Maintain the dog's safety by ensuring they are always on a leash outside of their home or yard, except for dogs who have had extensive recall training and are off-leash in safe places.
· Cooperate with breeding-related veterinary visits, like blood draws and testing. These visits will happen at Companion Animal Hospital in Mount Joy, PA. All costs of breeding will be covered by NoodleDoodles, and I will work with you on transportation.
· I will provide transportation for any reproductive specialist visits, though we may ask our guardians to meet us depending on location.
· Cooperate with breeding-dictated needs such as timing of vaccinations, avoiding particular vaccinations, avoiding kenneling, ceasing any participation in training classes when in heat and pregnant, and increase food/dietary needs when pregnant.
· All regular vet care must be done at agreed-upon vet.
· AVOID dog parks completely!!!
· NEVER leave a dog in a kennel while on vacation, etc. We will work with you to make arrangements for your dog, if you do not have a dog-sitter.
Guardian homes with female dogs:
· Live within about an hour of Mount Joy, PA.
· Let us know when every heat cycle begins (she will start to bleed small amounts of blood). Her first cycle will be around 1 year of age. I will breed her on her second heat, which is about 18 months of age to two years of age.
· Bring her to our home during the last week of her pregnancy where she will stay with us until her puppies have weaned, generally at 6-8 weeks old. Your girl will be with us for approximately 7-8 weeks.
· Guardians of females can visit their dog and play with her puppies while she is with us except for the first week after delivery.
· Females have at most 2 heats a year that are easily handled with a washable doggy diaper, provided by NoodleDoodles.
· Females are bred a maximum of 3-4 times between the ages of 1.5 years and 4, then YOU will have them spayed, and she is completely yours, no strings attached.
