As much as I would love to keep every breeding dog in my own home, I know that doing so would not be fair to the dogs—or my husband! As much as I adore each of my dogs, I recognize that every one of them deserves the time, attention, training, and unconditional love necessary to thrive. I never want to have more dogs than I can give the individual care and attention they deserve.

For this reason, as NoodleDoodles continues to grow, I carefully select loving guardian homes for our breeding dogs. This allows each dog to enjoy life as a cherished family pet while remaining a valued part of our breeding program.

Each selected guardian family receives a carefully chosen breeding-quality puppy from one of our litters at no cost. In return, the family agrees to meet the responsibilities outlined in this program.

As a NoodleDoodles guardian family, you will receive:

• A puppy at no cost: Your selected puppy becomes a beloved member of your family.
• Four in-home training sessions: These sessions are provided with my trainer to help you get started on the right foot.
• Discounted grooming: Enjoy reduced grooming costs throughout your dog's time in the program.  I now require all guardian families to bring their dog to me for grooming every 4–6 weeks. This helps me maintain a strong relationship with the dog and keeps her comfortable with my home, where she will stay for 6–8 weeks when having puppies. Grooming is offered at a heavily discounted rate of $30 for guardians (provided the coat is well-maintained). 
• Ongoing support: I will be available to offer guidance, answer questions, and help you navigate your dog's needs.

For female dogs, I handle the whelping (delivery) and raising of the puppies in my home. Your girl will come to stay with us near the end of her pregnancy and remain with us until her puppies are weaned, generally at six to eight weeks of age. This allows you to enjoy the experience of being part of our breeding program without taking on the responsibilities of delivering and raising a litter in your own home.

When your dog reaches the end of their breeding career, you will arrange and pay for their spay or neuter. Once this is completed, your dog will belong to you and your family without any further breeding obligations.

Being a guardian family is a wonderful opportunity, but it is also a meaningful commitment. We want every dog to grow into a confident, well-mannered, healthy, and happy family companion. Each selected family must understand, agree to, and fulfill the following expectations.

• Bring your dog to my home for grooming every 4-6 weeks.
• Attend Doodle Day activities
• Allow me to take your dog for the day, or visit.

• Continue your dog's training beyond the four complimentary in-home sessions. Training should begin early and continue beyond puppy kindergarten.
• Training may include private sessions with a professional trainer, in-person training classes, online courses, or a combination of these options.
• Provide thorough, age-appropriate socialization throughout your dog's first year. Introduce them to a variety of people, environments, sounds, and experiences to help them develop into confident, well-adjusted companions.

• Cover all regular expenses, including the food recommended by me, routine veterinary care, vaccinations, flea, tick and heartworm prevention, and other basic needs.
• Follow the food and vitamin regimen I recommend for your dog. For budgeting purposes, the estimated cost is approximately $100 per month, although actual costs may vary.
• Ensure all routine veterinary care be down with my veterinarians at AHCC of Hershey.
• Provide appropriate containment for outdoor exercise and play. A securely fenced yard is preferred, although I understand that a physical fence is not always possible.
• Keep your dog leashed whenever they are outside your home or securely enclosed yard, except in appropriate safe areas for dogs with reliable recall and suitable off-leash training.

• Dog parks are strictly prohibited. This helps minimize exposure to preventable illnesses, injuries, and unpredictable dog interactions.
• Never leave your dog in a kennel or boarding facility while you are away on vacation. If you do not have a suitable pet sitter or care arrangement, I will work with you to make alternative arrangements for your dog.

• Cooperate with all breeding-related veterinary appointments, including blood draws, reproductive testing, and other necessary evaluations. These appointments will take place with my veterinarian in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
• NoodleDoodles will cover all expenses directly related to breeding. I will also work with you on transportation arrangements.
• I will provide transportation for visits to a reproductive specialist when needed, although depending on your location, we may ask you to meet us at an agreed-upon location.
• Follow breeding-related care instructions, which may include coordinating vaccination timing, avoiding certain vaccinations when medically appropriate, avoiding boarding facilities, temporarily discontinuing training classes during heat cycles or pregnancy, and adjusting food intake and nutritional needs during pregnancy.

These measures are intended to protect your dog's health and support a successful breeding program. Any medical or vaccination decisions will be coordinated with the appropriate veterinarian.

Female guardian dogs have a few additional requirements because of pregnancy, delivery, and puppy care.

• Families must live within approximately 30–45 minutes of my home in Middletown, Pennsylvania, so we can coordinate veterinary appointments, breeding needs, and the care of your dog and her future puppies.

• Notify me promptly whenever your dog begins a heat cycle. Early signs may include small amounts of bloody discharge and changes in behavior.
• A dog's first heat may occur around one year of age, although timing varies by individual. We will determine the appropriate breeding timeline together, in consultation with our veterinarian.
• Keep your girl clean and comfortable during her heat cycle, using properly fitted dog diapers as needed.

• Bring your girl to my home during the final week of her pregnancy. She will stay with us through delivery and until her puppies are weaned, generally at six to eight weeks of age. Her stay will typically be approximately seven to eight weeks, depending on the timing of delivery and the puppies' needs.
• Guardian families are welcome to visit their girl and spend time with the puppies during her stay, except during the first week after delivery, when we prioritize a quiet, stable environment for the mother and her newborns.

• Female dogs typically experience up to two heat cycles per year, although individual cycles can vary. Washable dog diapers can help manage discharge during this time.
• Our goal is to breed each female no more than three times, with breeding limited to an appropriate age range and guided by veterinary recommendations and the dog's health and well-being.
• When your girl retires from our breeding program, you will arrange and pay for her spay. Afterward, she will remain with you permanently as your beloved family pet, with no further breeding obligations.
